My passion has always been to teach young children and to use my own creativity to explore the world with and through children of all ages. Raising my own 3 children was and still is one of the most exciting and rewarding parts of my life.

Learning an instrument is a very personal endeavor.

Every student learns and processes differently and
at their own pace.

I do not believe in following a specific method book.

BE INSPIRED...

My own musical journey began at the age of 5 with learning to play the recorder, followed by the piano shortly after. I began teaching when I was 13, giving recorder lessons to K-2nd graders. Over the years I was able to share my love for the piano with many students ages 5 thru adult.

Throughout my many years of teaching I created my own sheet music library of pieces that "just work well" and are fun to play. My library continues to grow every year.

EXPERIENCE...

The music I choose fits the student's needs and level. Individualizing my teaching material, often during the lesson together with the student, introduces him/her to the beginnings of composition and promotes their own musical creativity.

ENJOY...

Many of the pieces I give to young beginner students, I write myself. They are mostly based on children songs. Knowing the tune makes it easier for the student to follow the new concept of music reading and brings immediate success and accomplishment. Using both hands to play the piano and reading two separate lines of music at the same time, seems confusing and overwhelming in the beginning.

.

CREATE...

With my personalized teaching style geared towards the children's talent and capability, the students are able to play with both hand together within only a few weeks, not realizing what incredible work their own body and mind are accomplishing. The connection between the brain, the eyes reading the music, uncountable signals being sent to coordinate arms, hands and fingers in order to press the right piano keys at the right time, is a process beyond our understanding and an extraordinary wonder to watch.

Music is more than just playing the right note at the right moment in the right contest. Music comes from the heart.

My utmost goal is
to inspire my students
to experience their emotions,
to enjoy music making and
to create music from their hearts.
